I've NEVER Been This Cold

So what do you do when it's below zero for the fourth day in a row (-41 to be exact), and you haven't left the house in days? Go crazy. (Well techincally I left to go to the grocery store last night, but I'm trying to forget about that). I ran out of things to do with the girls about two days ago. I could give the house a good cleaning, or get caught up on the laundry, or organize some closests...but that would require moving from underneath my warm blanket. My house is FREEZING. Never again will I live in a house that's over 100 years old. They stink at staying warm. It's sad because we get our utilities for free here so we can crank it up as high as we want and it still won't stay warm. One good thing about this crazy weather is that Hubby got a snow day yesterday! There's nothing better than getting a snow day when you're in grad school!! He still had to go outside to do the snow removal for the church, but with the help of one of our awesome friends it got done really quick, and he came out of it with all of his limbs still attached. I am still in schock at how cold it is here. It is ridiculous. If you have any suggestions on some fun things I could do inside with an infant and a toddler please let me know!

First order of business when it's below zero outside? Strip down and take a steaming hot bath! Personally my favorite thing to do. The girls apparently take after me and can't get enough of it.
Next, you can play with shredded paper...Banana took it upon herself to destroy a phone book. And her and Miss Em were fascinated with the sad remains of said phone book for at least an hour. Who needs toys when you have crumpled paper?
Finally, you get annoyed of your mom taking too many pictures.
Hope all of my fellow iowa friends are staying warm! We miss you :)

Wow thats cold. It's been in the 40's here so we have been going outside a little more. It's still cold but I'm itching for spring and summer! I hope you warm up soon.

Brrrr! I am sorry it is so cold! Here are a few things we have done to prevent cabin fever: have a picnic on the floor, make homemade playdough, build tents in the living room, fingerpaint with pudding, and snuggle under blankets and watch movies with cocoa and popcorn.

I hope it gets warmer!

It is cold. It's disgusting! Really. Parker and I bake or I let him help prepare things in advance. We dance and really just acting so silly goes a long way.

I know all about the bath thing. I take at least 2 showers a day when it gets this cold...just to warm up. We dress in as many layers as we can. Just think we only have 3 more months of this weather...hopefully!

man oh man, I am freezing my butt of too.... we have to pay our heating bill though :( Little K and I have been busy crafting and cleaning. AND LOTS OF DANCING. I put on music and we dance for hours. We ventured out this morning to the library, I had to let the truck warm up for 20 mins! but it was worth getting out of the house.

EEK! I'm sorry...that does not sound fun at all! You should move to St. George for a couple of years when he is done to make up for the cold weather you have been dealing with for the last couple of years....hate to tell you this but it was 63 here last week.

We were thawing out today on the way to church! It was a balmy 25 and it almost felt weird to have a coat on!!!
