Walmart + Drunk Old Guy=Trouble

Ok, I am a relatively level headed, calm, quiet mother of two and I just about punched a guy at Walmart last night. Sorry mom. We were walking into Walmart last night (our exciting Saturday night adventure), and we were halfway through the crosswalk when a car comes barreling through and just about took out Russ and Hannah. So my meek, quiet hubby :) yells "What are you doing?" And then the guy slams on his brakes. Fabulous. We keep walking and hear the guy yelling back at us "What are you doing?" We ignore him and proceed into the store to start our fun night of shopping. It really is fun, cuz Hannah loves going shopping (gets that from me)! So...we are debating on what kind of cheap steak tastes the best and I smell this guy before he even says anything. He walks right up next to us and asks if we were the ones in the crosswalk. Russ says yeah, and then tells him he almost hit us. This obviously intoxicated guy then proceeds to try and tell us that he had the right of way, because he claims he was already driving through the crosswalk. Right. Pretty sure I wouldn't just walk right into the crosswalk with a car driving through it...Anyhow, Russ tells him no he didn't, we were there, with children, and you can't just hit somebody. This guy just won't be quiet and Russ keeps trying to tell him he was wrong, and we try and leave. The guy won't let up, so I finally decide to give him my two cents. That's right. Christa, the terrified to even talk in church girl, terrified of making a spectacle in public girl, lays into this guy. I was furious at him because he didn't care one bit that he had put my children at risk. So I pretty much told him he was an idiot and we were done talking. I know, not very Christ like, but these crazy hormones make me act out in very un-christa like ways. I shouldn't have called him an idiot, maybe a moron instead. ;) I can tell Russ is getting more and more upset, first because he can't stand people like this, and second because we are standing there with our two children trying to get this drunk guy to leave us alone and he wouldn't let up. At one point he even tells us that the only reason he's not doing anything about it is cuz we have children there. Please, first off he's drunk, secondly, have you seen my husband? We finally just headed to the other side of the store to get away from this guy. When I think about it now it was a kind of scary situation cuz I have no clue what this guy was capable of, but at the time I really, really wanted to punch the guy. So...that's our fun adventure for the weekend. Lesson learned...stay away from drunk old guys at Walmart!

Here are some fun pics to lighten the mood!
